Biography

Sandra is first a mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and multi-level relationship person. She is employed by God and works in His vineyard in the areas of missions and other employable endeavors. She is a Deaconess and enjoys working with faith based initiatives as well as her various church duties. Sandra began her professional career as an educator. Early on she recognized that our children bring many social service issues to the classroom that greatly impacts their success early on in life. Insightfully she left the field of education and entered the social services to address these concerns. Sandra brings to the forefront multiple years experience:

Sandra was co-founder and Executive Director of The Black Adoption Consortium, Inc (a.k.a BAC, Inc.), a nationally recognized specialized adoption agency from 1991-1998. (She retired the agency to pursue other avenues of personal impact to become Caregiver for her father who was suddenly diagnosed with terminal  cancer.)

She has been featured in multiple national and local news media as an adoption and permanency rights advocate for Afrikan American children. Sandra is a principal founder of “The Esteem Builders Institute”. She is pending finalization of a grassroots funding concept expected to radically improve the quality of life for minorities and others. She has authored an adoption focused children’s book titled “We Are Family” and is currently working on a soon to be released 2nd adoption book entitled “Derrick’s Journey Home.” She has released an inspirational book for women titled "Weaving the Threads of Faith Sisterly Encouragement 1."  Sandra has partnered as CEO/President to form Esteem Building Publishing Company  which will release publications by renowned and budding new writer artisans.

  • Palliative & hospice care. (The “daughter/friend Sandy” spent the most impacting moments of her life sharing in the end-of-life journey of her mother who was a cancer survivor of over 20 years.)


Currently she is employed as Interfaith Outreach Coordinator with the Community Relations Department of the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging one of the largest area on aging agencies in the country and the largest in the state of Pennsylvania.

Sandra has been a scouting leader and trainer as well as an amateur Storyteller. She has held membership in various socially impacting organizations and participated on several task forces promoting the betterment of children and families. Sandra has a dual degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education from Pennsylvania State University. She has received numerous certificates in the area of Social Services.

She is a novice connoisseur of the arts and enjoys finding her story through history and music. The Sandy part of her believes that self discovering her life purpose is a never ending process because she is always evolving and revolving and if we share our pain and our joy to help others along the way than our living is not in vain.
